Eye Doctor in Kona, HI
Dr. Ryan Steck is a board-certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. He offers the latest in advanced lens technology by correcting near vision and astigmatism to reduce the dependency on glasses. Dr. Steck also offers minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of glaucoma. In addition to treating patients at Eye Center of Hawaii, he also provides eye care for soldiers, veterans, and their families at Tripler Army Medical Center.
Dr. Steck obtained an undergraduate degree in molecular biology and master’s degree in microbiology from Brigham Young University. During this time he conducted cancer research, publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national conferences. He graduated medical school from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He completed his internship at Tripler Army Medical Center and ophthalmology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center where he was selected as Chief Resident.
Dr. Steck’s other interests include biking, tennis, playing drums, scuba diving, and he is fluent in Thai.

However, as the landscape evolved, we recognized the need to differentiate ourselves, leading to our transition to Bennett Eye Institute. Now, as Eye Center of Hawai’i, we come full circle, reflecting our dedication to delivering exceptional care with expanded services.
In our new identity, we have embraced Wa’a “Canoe”. The canoe holds a profound significance in Hawaiian culture. We honor the spirit of the canoe, symbolically representing our commitment to guiding and supporting our patients on their journey to optimal eye health and vision.
This change signifies our renewed commitment to growth, expanded patient services, and unwavering dedication to both our physicians and staff. Over the years, we've seen remarkable growth and evolution within our practice, and this rebranding represents our vision for the future.
